IRING
, provides access from the HRE-454 to
the main cable. The stub is a 28-pair, 24-gauge, T-screened cable with two 14-pair binder groups.
Both 14-pair groups have the same color coding. The first twelve pairs are assigned the White/Blue through
White/Orange codes. Each group also has two pairs identified as Spare (SP)1 (White/Red) and SP2 (White/Black).
Group 1 is identified by a Blue group thread. Group 2 is identified by an Orange group thread.
The first eight pairs in each group connect to the four shelf slots as shown in
. The HRE-454 is shown
as being wired in a typical mini-repeater fashion, using Sides 1 and 2 terminology. This adheres to conventional
T1 terminology which describes a unidirectional (simplex) service. HDSL is, in fact, a bidirectional (duplex)
