The first eight pairs in each group connect to the four shelf slots, as shown in
. The HRE-504
is shown as being wired in a typical mini-repeater fashion, using Side 1 and Side 2 terminology. This adheres to
conventional T1 terminology which describes a unidirectional (simplex) service. HDSL is a bidirectional (duplex)
service and could be shown with bidirectional doubler header arrows.
