OFTWARE
Uploading a new version of multiplexer software assumes the following
conditions:
•
a serial connection between the maintenance terminal and the HMU
•
a 10BASE-T Ethernet connection between the multiplexer and the HMU
•
the AUX port is set up to communicate with the multiplexer
•
a communications package on the maintenance terminal, such as
HyperTerminal or ProComm, using XMODEM
When performing a software download in a protected system,
the software must be loaded to both multiplexer modules
individually. Upon completion of a download, the system
switches to the standby module, at which time a second
download must be initiated to complete a full system
upgrade.
