Whenever installing or removing units from a remote enclosure, be sure to wear an
antistatic wrist strap and connect it to the ESD strap input.

Open the remote enclosure cover.

Plug your ESD wrist strap into the ESD above the HMU slot.

Set the user options for status LEDs. Refer to the HRU user manual for details. User options usually
include setting the:
•
DS1 receive level
•
TLOS
•
Sealing current
•
Local or line power selection

Refer to the HRU pinout in
if remote chassis is not pre-wired.
