Please read these Operating Instructions carefully before using the product for the first time, and
keep them in a safe place so that you can consult them again if you need further information.
1. Conditions of use
You should weigh yourself with as little clothes as possible. Make sure to weigh yourself at the same
time of day each time. Since the body is subject to natural fluctuations (e.g. dehydration from sports
or sauna, intake of food and fluids), constant conditions should be ensured when measuring, so as
to receive comparable results.
ADE Germany shall not accept liability for damages or losses caused by the bathroom scales or for
third party claims. This product is solely intended for private use. It is not designed for professional
use in hospitals or medical facilities.
2. First use
Please make sure to check the packaging and device for ant visible damage before using the scales
for the first time. The scales must not be used if any damage is detected. Please contact us
immediately. Our customer service representatives will be happy to help.
Safety guidelines: This device is not to be used by persons (including children) with limited physical,
sensory or mental abilities or who are lacking experience and understanding, unless they are
supervised by persons, who are responsible for their safety or have been instructed in the use of the
scales. It should be ensured that children do not play with the device.
Place the scales on a flat and solid surface (tiles, parquet, etc.).
Incorrect measurements make occur on carpets.
Stand in the centre of the scale surface to prevent tipping.
Attention! There is a danger of slipping if the scales' surface is wet
or if feet are wet.
Ensure that no objects fall onto the scales; falling objects could
break the glass and damage the scales.
Use only a damp cloth to clean the scales. Never use solvents or
abrasive cleaning agents. Do not immerse in water.
Preparation: Open the lids of the battery compartments on the underside of the scales and on the
reverse of the portable display module to insert the supplied batteries (2 x 1.5V AAA). Please
observe the correct polarity of the batteries (+/-).
3. Programming the time on the portable display
Hold the portable display to input the correct time. Press and hold the SET button for about 3
seconds; the hour display will begin to flash. Press the
or
button for the desired hour value and
confirm your selection by pressing SET. The minute display will now begin to flash. Press the
–
or
button for the desired minute value and confirm your selection by pressing SET.
Pressing and holding the
or
button will speed up the number sequence.
4. Weighing function/ BMI display (Body Mass Index)
IMPORTANT! Please remember that the portable display and the scales must be directly
connected while using the scales. There must not be any obstacles between the scales and the
display. The scales function by way of an IR receiver. The maximum distance between scales
and portable display is limited.
The scales are equipped with a Step-On function. Hold the operating device (display time) in your
hand and step onto the scales. Stand still and do not hold on to anything. The display will initially
show 8888, followed by your current weight after a few seconds. Step off the scales. The display will
return to showing the time after a few seconds.
In order for your BMI to be displayed, you must first input and store your memory location (e.g. 01)
and your body height as follows: Press the SET button on the operating device (time display). The
body height setting is displayed (default setting is 165 cm). Press and hold the SET button for 3
seconds, then release. In the display, the memory location (e.g. 01) is now shown in the display.
Press the

button to select the desired memory location (01 to 12 / for max. 12 individuals).
Press the button SET. The body height display is shown. Press the
or
button to select your
body height and press SET to confirm. The display now shows – – – –. Step onto the scales. You will
now be shown your weight and your BMI in 3 alternating successions. Your values will be stored.
Should your weight have changed by more than 2kg by the time you weigh yourself the next time,
then the scales will find your memory location automatically and will also recalculate your BMI in
accordance with your stored body height information.
Quick display of weight/ BMI without saving: Press the SET button on the operating device (time
display). The body height display is shown. The body height setting is displayed (default setting is 165
cm). Repeatedly press the SET button, until your previously entered body height is shown and then
wait until – – – – appears. Step onto the scales. You will now be shown your weight and your BMI in 3
alternating successions. Your values will not be stored.
5. Error messages
“Err” =
Overload – The 150 kg maximum load capacity has been exceeded. Remove the
load from the scales immediately to avoid damage to the load cells.

Batteries in the portable device are low – Please replace with 2 x 1.5V type AAA
batteries.
"b-Lo"
=
Batteries in the scales are low – Please replace with 2 x 1.5V type AAA batteries.
"C"
=
Weighing error - For example, if the scales are unstable or you are not standing still
on the weighing platform. Please repeat the weighing process.
