OPERATING AND USER MANUAL QUARTZ series CXP

Burst mode
6.4.4.
As indicated at the start of in section 6.4, the decoupling of image acquisition and interface data
transmission enables capturing a burst of images at a higher acquisition rate than the interface frame
rate.
In addition, the moment of interface data transmission can be controlled precisely by the Request
Mode setting (section 6.12). The images can be output directly from the start of the burst or
alternatively upon receiving a trigger.
There is no specific command to enable the burst mode. The camera automatically ends up in burst
mode whenever the acquisition rate exceeds the maximum rate allowed by the interface. The memory
will fill up from then until it cannot anymore. From then, the burst will have to be terminated.
In this camera there is always an interface configuration available that can keep up with the sensor. (In
fact, a closer look at sections 6.4.1 - 6.4.3 reveals that each sustained speed is within the band width
of CXP-5 dual). Therefore burst mode is only applicable in very specific configurations, for example
when it is desirable to have a single link.
