Introduction
This chapter introduces the cPCI-3600 Series, presents a general
overview of its package contents, specifications, features, and
applications.
1.1
Overview
The cPCI-3600 Series is a state-of-the-art single board computer
in a 3U dual-slot CompactPCI
®
form factor featuring an extremely
energy efficient AMD Geode™ LX 800 CPU operating at 500 MHz
with 128 kB L2 cache.
Bundled with a powerful Geode™ CS5536 companion device, the
cPCI-3600 is ideal for embedded systems and is optimized to
work with AMD Geode LX processors to deliver an integrated
solution with very low power consumption.
Along with optional 256 MB DDR soldered memory, support for
two 10/100 Ethernet ports, a 2.5” IDE HDD and one Compact-
Flash socket, the cPCI-3600 offers both I/O versatility and ample
storage solutions. The module further incorporates an Intel based
10/100Base-T Ethernet port, an PATA EIDE controller supporting
both PIO and UDMA modes, two USB v2.0 ports, two serial ports,
one parallel port (SPP/ECP/EPP) shared with FDD, one PS2 key-
board/mouse interface, AC’97 audio interface and power manage-
ment functionality.
The module supports advanced display features such as high res-
olution Analog CRT support up 1920 x 1440 resolution in the front
or rear of the carrier.
The cPCI-3600 is a revision controlled product aimed at applica-
tions that require a guaranteed long production life support,
intended for military, traffic, and automation applications. and is an
RoHS compliant and lead free product.
