Turnup and Test ECC
Each Total Access 3000 Hi-Cap RT Solution is equipped with a heat exchanger climate control
system managed by an Environmental Control Card (ECC). The ECC is an intelligent system
used to sense, control, and report the internal climate of the cabinet. The ECC monitors
thermistor input, heat exchanger fans, and ECC alarm outputs for high temperature,
intrusion, and system failures. The turn-up procedure for the ECC is found in Emerson
document 631-205-071.
Shelf Test and Turnup
After the Valere Power System/Rectifier and ECC have been successfully turned-up and
tested, the next step in the process is to turn-up and test the respective shelves.
Total Access 3000
Operation of the Total Access 3000 chassis centers on the installation of the SCU and the DS3
MUX modules. For more information, refer to the
Total Access 3000/3010 Enhanced System
Controller Unit Installation and Maintenance Practice
(P/N 61181018L1-5).
DS3 MUX
The
Total Access 3000/3010 System Manual
(P/N 61181001L1-1) contains three prerequisite
turn-up procedures for the DS3 MUX. These prerequisites have been performed in the
systems integration process of the cabinets. These procedures include the following:
• Installation and wiring of Total Access 3000 chassis and SCU: “
NTP-501”
• BNC module installation: “
DLP-708”
• Coaxial cable installation: “
PREP 401
” and “
DLP-709”
The Total Access 3000 has the capability to have redundant multiplexers for protection. If
using that capability, install two Total Access DS3 MUX modules. If this is the case, Slot A will
be the active slot and Slot B the protection slot.
Cross Connect Alarms
The Total Access 3000 housekeeping alarms terminate at the Alarm Cross-Connect Shelf. In
order to carry the alarms back to the network, cross connect the appropriate alarm leads to
the housekeeping alarms for the Total Access 3000 chassis.
Alarm Block Connections
The alarm block receives various alarm inputs from three components:
• Valere Power System/Rectifier
• Environmental Control Card
• Total Access 23-Inch Fan Module Assembly
The alarm panel has two sets of front-access wire-wrap pins, one labeled
ALARMING
and one
set labeled
REPORTING
.
The Alarming devices, as outlined in
, are cross connected and
grouped as appropriate to the reporting devices (in this case the Total Access 3000 chassis).
