Condition
Description
LOS
Number of times the unit has lost the receive sig-
nal.
LOF
Number of times the unit has detected a loss of
framing from the network.
AIS
Number of times the unit has received an AIS
(blue) alarm condition from the network. AIS
alarms occur when consecutive 1010s are re-
ceived in the information bits. This indicates that
there is a transmission fault located either at or
upstream from the transmitting terminal.
RAI
Number of times the unit has received an RAI
(yellow) alarm from the network. This alarm is a
signal sent back toward the source of a failed
transmit circuit. The X-bits (X1 and X2) are set to
zero.
IDLE
Number of times the unit has detected an idle se-
quence from the network.
The count given reflects the number of times the alarm or state has occurred
(rather than the number of seconds the alarm was active).
