ENGINE AIR FILTER
Proper maintenance of the engine air filter is extremely important, since the TigerCat is often operated in dusty
conditions. An air filter service indicator is located on the filter (in the engine compartment). The air filter
should be serviced only when the red band on the service indicator is visible.
The air filter contains a primary (outer) and a secondary (inner) filter element. The primary element may be
cleaned twice before it needs to be replaced. The secondary element should be replaced every third time that
the primary element is replaced. Never attempt to clean and re-use the secondary element.

To clean the primary element remove the cover from the air filter canister. Then remove the wing nut holding
the primary filter element in place. Blow dust off of the element with compressed air (100 PSI Max.) or wash it
under running water (40 PSI Max.). Do not re-install the filter element until it is completely dry.
When ever the air filter is serviced, the hose between the air filter and the carburetor should be carefully
checked. If the hose is damaged, it should be replaced before the machine is used again.
