Delivery
Each ADVANCE paraglider must be fl own by the dealer and checked
for correct basic setting and trim. On conclusion, the dealer enters
the date of the fi rst fl ight in the manufacturer’s label fi xed to the cell-
dividing wall in the centre of the canopy. This entry, together with re-
turning a correctly completed warranty card to ADVANCE, will ensure
that defects on the product attributable to a manufacturing fault are
covered by the ADVANCE warranty (see Warranty in the «Service»
section).
The OMEGA 7 comes with a backpack, an inner bag, a compression
strap, a repair kit, an accelerator line with speed bar, speed arms,
a user manual with warranty card and service booklet, and an
ADVANCE mini windsock.
Basic setting
The basic setting of the OMEGA 7 at the time of delivery is that which
has been found to be ideal by the ADVANCE test team; it is in this
condition that the glider was awarded its certifi cation. Any unap-
proved changes or modifi cations, such as changes to the line lengths
or attachment of other risers or quick links by the owner, will result in
the paraglider losing its certifi cation (see the «Certifi cation» section).
Adjustment of the steering lines
The length of the control lines is set at the factory so that in fully
accelerated fl ight, with completely released control lines, the trailing
edge is not braked, i.e. free from creases. This setting should not be
changed as a matter of principle.
If the length of the steering lines has to be readjusted, an 8 cm slack
length of line is to be allowed between the «off» setting (steering lines
released) and the active setting (steering line begins to come under
tension). We recommend that the brake handles are secured using a
bowline
knot.
Speed system
We recommend that the OMEGA 7’s speed system is correctly
adjusted before the fi rst fl ight. This should include a check to ensure
that the entire acceleration distance can be utilised.
The OMEGA 7 has a novel suspension system for the accelerator
line. The line coming from the harness is looped over the riser, with
the tightened loop being fi xed by a ball
(see ball in the illustration)
.
This provides pilots with an even greater acceleration distance.
