The PI 2 sizes are subdivided into three dif-
ferent weight ranges, ‘Thermal’, ‘Hike&Fly’
and ‘Miniwing’. These are based on wing
loading and make different demands on pi
-
loting levels. The higher the wing loading,
the more demanding are the flying charac
-
teristics and handling. Also considered is
the general fact that small paragliders are
more agile and demanding to fly, even when
flown at relatively low wing loadings.
Thermal
In the Thermal Range with wing loadings up
to 3.5 kg/m
2
the PI 2 is very easy to fly be
-
cause of its balanced canopy behaviour.
Here, the 23 and 27 sizes provide maximum
safety. Beginners and occasional pilots will
feel similarly comfortable under these
wings, in this weight range.
