Setting the Sensor Head Address
When you connect sensor heads to a converter box, the converter box will
automatically assign each sensor head a number (from 1 to 8) based on the order
in which the converter box detects the sensor heads. The sensor heads are then shown
in the detected order on the display and in the Infra600 software. If you want to
change this order, you can manually assign an address to each sensor head (from A1
to A8) using the display parameters, the Infra600 software, or a UPP command.
Up to eight sensor heads can be connected while assigning addresses. Assigning
an address to a sensor head will overwrite the original number. Sensor heads with
assigned addresses will be displayed before sensor heads with numbers.
☞
Important
A unique sensor head address is required. If you try to assign a sensor head
address that is already assigned, the
CHECK ADDRESSING
warning will
appear on the display or in the Infra600 software.
☞
Important
Assigning sensor head addresses requires having only one converter box
connected to the PC at a time. After each sensor head has a unique address
or unique number, all converter boxes can be connected and used at the same
time.
TO SET THE SENSOR HEAD ADDRESS
1. Connect up to eight sensor heads to the converter box.
2. Select
DIS
on the converter box display, or click
Discover
in the Infra600
software.
Once detected, the converter box will assign a unique number to the sensor
heads (from A1 to A8).
3. If desired, assign a new unique 2-character address to the sensor heads.
Valid values are A1 to A8.
4. Keep a record of the address that is assigned to each sensor head.
To send UPP commands to one sensor head when multiple sensor heads are
connected, you will need to know the unique address assigned to that sensor
head.
