TROUBLESHOOTING
The Impac pyrometer is rugged and rarely experiences malfunctions. As a result,
problems can usually be attributed to such things as stray light picked up by the
sensor, incorrect sensor factor values, dirty or damaged sensors, and bent or broken
cables.
If a problem does occur, refer to the following checklist to identify the error and try
to solve the problem.

Important
If the Impac pyrometer is integrated in a running machine process, the
machine should be switched off and secured against restart before servicing
the pyrometer.

Incorrect alignment of the pyrometer to the target object
• Correct the alignment to achieve the maximum
temperature signal.
Target object is smaller than the spot size
• Verify that the spot size is smaller than the target
object at the current measuring distance. If necessary,
mount the Impac pyrometer at a different measuring
