AF-5000 Series Pilot Guide
119
In this picture we have selected the RNAV GPS 35 LPV approach on the IFD540, selected EMADE as our
Initial Approach Fix. The autopilot mode is NAV for Lateral and ARM for Vertical. This means the autopilot is
following the IFD540's lateral GPS course and is holding altitude at the altitude bug until vertical guidance is
provided from the IFD540 (usually just outside the FAF).
Notice all the flight plan legs including the approach have automatically transferred to the EFIS GNAV1
Flight Plan.
The current flight plan leg is drawn solid magenta on both the AF-5000 map and IFD540 map. The next leg
is drawn with a magenta and white striped leg and the remaining legs are drawn white.
