Optional Ignition Module
If you purchased the Smart Bus optional ignition module then you will be able to easily control the igni-
tion system in your model via the Smart Bus. This ignition module is a high quality optically isolated design
that minimises ignition noise and provides regulated 6 volts supply at up to 3A to power your gas engines’
ignition system. It can be used as the master ignition controller for single or multi engine configurations.
To use the optional ignition module:

Connect the optical cable to the ignition port on the side of the Smart Bus.

Connect an ignition battery to the
JR FEMALE
yellow battery lead.

Connect the ignition system to the
JR
MALE
yellow power output lead.

Connect a signal from the receiver to input 12 of the Smart Bus.

Set the channel connected to input 12 on the transmitter to switch ON/OFF the ignition system.
Information: Input channel 12 is a special dual function channel. It is linked to the optical ignition output
and AUX7

B. You can use either the optical ignition module OR (AUX7

B).
Please Note: The optical ignition module is supplied with a blue ignition LED. This ignition LED operates
directly from the ignition power and requires the ignition battery to be connected to operate.
