are met (see

8.4 OVERDRIVE PROTECTION
In order to protect the unit from an overdrive action (that will result in excessive output power
that may irreversibly damage the unit), an overdrive protection system is implemented. This
feature will decrease the gain of the unit (within a 3 to 5 seconds delay) when the detected output
power is perceived as being equal or greater than 51.0 dBm. This action will result in a
temporary ALARM OVD (OVERDRIVE) that is set at both RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces. If
the input signal is still too high, the gain will continue to be decreased until the minimum gain
level of 54 dB is reached. Once the minimum gain level is reached, the unit will go in shutdown,
with FAULT (OVD) signaling on the interfaces.
