In figure 2-6A the micro fault at about 25 feet (5 Ohms) may not be service
affecting. The micro fault at 55 feet (12 Ohms) is most likely service affecting.
Anything over 15 Ohms is certain to affect service.
Figure 2-6B
In figure 2-6B there are two small faults. The first fault is marked by Cursor 2 at
about 34ft is a worn barrel connector and the second marked by Cursor 1 is a
kink in the cable. Both could be service affecting at higher frequencies.
TEST LEAD NULL – ON or OFF
Use

to turn ON or OFF. When ON the stored test lead’s length will be
removed from the cable’s distance measurements. The Measurement Screen
indicates Null is on when “(NULL)” appears below the plot on the left side.
TEST LEAD NULL – Store a Test Lead’s Length
With the cursor arrow at TEST LEAD NULL press the
to measure a
test lead and store its length. Connect the desired test lead and follow the on-
screen instructions which will direct marking the end of the test lead with the
cursor and press ENTER again to store that length, turn Null on, and return to the
Measurement Screen.
