Note: Batteries should not be disposed of in the dome-
stic waste. Please return used batteries to the appropria-
te collection points or the dealer where you bought them.
Batteries must never be thrown into a fi re.
Mains Operation
It is possible to operate the device using the mains
power unit.
1. Insert the plug of the power unit into a correctly
installed 230 V, 50 Hz wall socket.
2. Connect the CD player to the power unit by inserting
the plug of the power unit into the DC 4.5 V socket
(12).
3. When using a power unit (DC 4.5V/600mA) ensure
the correct polarity according to the inscriptions on
the CD player.
General Operation
HOLD ON/OFF
(10/G):
This blocks the functions of all keys
on the device and is intended to
protect against a key being activa-
ted accidentally. When the switch
(10) is pushed to the right the word
”HOLD” appears in the display (9).
The switch (G) is used only to lock
the buttons of the remote control.
The HOLD function of the remote
control is not shown on the display.
OPEN (11):
For opening the CD compartment.
4,5 V socket (12):
For connecting a mains adapter.
LINE-OUT (13):
For connection to a stereo system,
for example.
BASS-BOOST (14): This is used to amplify the bass
sounds. The switch can be in one of
two positions,
ON or OFF.
VOLUME (15/F):
This is used to control the volume.
PHONES (16/A):
For connecting to the headphones
or earphones.
CHARGE
ON/OFF (17):
This switch is located on the inside
of your machine.
Switches on the charge function
when the external power unit (ON) is
connected. Please ensure that there
are no batteries inserted into the
battery compartment, as otherwise
there is a danger of explosion! Only
the correct rechargeable batteries
should be used!
Switching off
You can switch the device off by pressing the
STOP
button (4) (C on the remote control) once, or twice if the
CD is playing. The CD player also switches off automati-
cally if the
STOP button is pressed and the player is
not operated for a further 30 seconds.
Playing CDs
1. Shift the OPEN key (11) to the right to open the CD
compartment.
2. Insert a CD with the label facing upwards and press
carefully over the button until it snaps into place.
Close the CD compartment.
3. Press the
/ II PLAY/PAUSE button (5) (B on the
remote control) to switch the device on and play
back the CD. At fi rst the ESP function appears on
the display (60 Sec. memory), then „Cd“, „ESP“ and
the „MP3“ display fl ashes, followed briefl y by the
number of tracks and the total running time. The CD
starts from the fi rst track. The track currently being
played and the time that has elapsed are shown in
the display.
4. To remove a CD, press the
STOP key (4/C), open
the CD deck with the OPEN key and take out the CD
carefully.
Always keep the CD deck cover closed.
Note: When a disc is inserted incorrectly, ”Cd MP 3”
appears in the display. If no disc is inserted, the words
”NO DISC” appear.
Playing back Music in MP3 Format
With this device it is possible to play back pieces of mu-
sic in MP3 format. The device also supports all standard
CD types: CD, CD-RW, CD-R. The active ESP function
always appears in the display (memory 60 seconds); see
item ”ESP”.
Description of the CD buttons:
/ II PLAY/PAUSE
(5/B):
Playback can be briefl y interrup-
ted. If the key is pressed again,
playback continues from the same
position.
I
PREV (2/D):
With the CD running:
Press once =
This starts the current track again
from the beginning.
Press a second time =
This jumps back to the previous
track.
Press a third time =
This plays the song before etc. If
the button is kept pressed down,
the machine starts to search
through the tracks (The sound is
muted).
I NEXT (3/E):
With the CD running:
With this button you can jump to
the following track or the next track
but one etc. If the button is kept
pressed down, the machine starts
to search through the tracks (The
sound is muted).
STOP (4/C):
The CD is stopped. By pressing
once again, the unit is switched off.
