The menu item S/W VERSION specifies the type of machine and its factory code.
AUDIO SETUP PAGE: Audio Settings
General Notes
In the submenu AUDIO SETUP, you can change the settings which affect the sound transmission between the DVD
machine and the connected external devices.
ANALOG AUDIO SETUP: Analogue Audio Settings
In the menu item ANALOG AUDIO SETUP, there are two subitems: DOWNMIX and DIALOGUE.
DOWNMIX: DOWNMIX Settings
The machine can convert a multichannel sound format into a two channel format. This procedure is known as
DOWNMIX.
In this menu item you can select one of the following DOWNMIX options:
• L / R: The sound is carried via the left and right audio channel, even if the original sound is in 5.1CH format
(5.1-channel).
• STEREO (Stereo Audio Output): The sound is carried in Stereo-Format, even if the original sound is in 5.1CH
format (5.1 channel).
DIALOG: Clarity of dialogue
In the DIALOG menu item, you can improve the clarity and volume of the film dialogue.
DIGITAL AUDIO SETUP: Digital Audio Settings
In the menu item DIGITAL AUDIO SETUP, there are two separate subitems: DIGITAL OUTPUT and LPCM OUTPUT.
DIGITAL OUTPUT: Digital Output
In the menu item DIGITAL OUTPUT, you can select a specific option for the audio output. Te selected audio output
option should be adjusted to match the connection type between the DVD machine and the connected audio
devices. For details see the chapter on “Connection to audio devices“.
The following options for the digital output are available:
• SPDIF/OFF: An analogue and no digital audio signal is transmitted.
• SPDIF/RAW: Select this option if you play DOLBY or MPEG4 Disks through the coaxial output COAXIAL or
through the optical output OPTICAL. The connected amplifier should be able to decode its DOLBY DIGITAL and
MPEG formats.
• SPDIF/PCM: Select this option if the device is connected to a 2-channel stereo digital amplifier.
