Troubleshooting
Before you send in the machine to our customer service, check whether the fault can be rectified using the follow-
ing table.
Warning!
Never try to repair the machine yourself or open the housing. This may render the warranty null and void with
immediate effect.

No power.
The mains plug is not inserted or properly
plugged into the socket.
Plug the mains plug into the mains socket
properly.
Check if all connections and sockets are work-
ing.
No picture
The video output option is incorrect for the
selected connection to the television.
Select the correct video output option for the
connection to the television.
The video cable is incorrectly connected.
Plug the video cable plug properly into the
correct socket.
The television is not tuned properly.
Tune the television to the VIDEO- or AV-
channel.
The system is not connected properly.
Connect all devices to each other properly.
The TV Mode (TV signal) does not correspond
to that of the connected television.
Select the correct TV Mode: PROGRESSIVE or
INTERLACE.
No sound or
distorted sound
from speakers
The type of audio output is incorrect for the
selected connection to the audio devices.
Select the correct video output option for the
connection to the audio devices.
The audio cable is not properly connected.
Plug the audio cable plug properly into the
correct socket.
The audio System is not connected to the
machine.
Connect the audio system to the machine.
The audio System is not switched on.
Switch on the audio system.
The disc is being rewound or is on fast forward.
When the disc is rewinding or on fast forward,
it is normal for the sound and picture to be
distorted. Press PLAY/ENTER, to restart normal
playback.
The volume is on the minimum setting.
Increase the volume with the VOL+ button
The sound is switched off.
Press the MUTE button to switch on the sound.
The machine
cannot play the
disc.
No disc is inserted in the disc tray or the disc is
incorrectly inserted into the disc tray.
Check whether there is a disc in the disc tray.
Check whether the disc is in the correct posi-
tion with the label face up.
Parental control is on.
The parental control level of the disc is higher
than that of the user.
Enter the valid or universal password or
change the parental controls settings.
The disc is dirty.
Remove the disc from the disc tray and clean
the disc.
The disc is not compatible with the system.
Use a disc which is compatible with the
system.
