NOTE:
• Data transfer between external memory (SD/MMC) and
internal memory (MP3 Player) could cause a malfunction.
If you nonetheless wish to transfer fi les from e.g. the
internal memory to the SD/MMC card fi rst save your fi les
on your PC. Then copy the fi les onto the SD/MMC card.
• We can not be held responsible for the loss of fi les as a
result of improper operation.
• The device is not DRM-compatible.
• If an SD/MMC was installed on the PC before connection,
this also appears as a removable medium on the PC.
How to operate the MP3 player
Switching the MP3 player on
To switch on the MP3 player hold the
왘
II
button (1) down; the
display briefl y shows “AEG”.
Switching the MP3 player off
Keep the
왘
II
button pressed down until the words “Continue
holding to power off” appear in the display and the progress bar
has reached 100%.
NOTE:
• The MP3 player switches itself off automatically if not ope-
rated for a shorter period of time while in stop or pause
mode.
• If the MP3 player is switched on again and the
왘
II
button
(1) is activated, the device starts playing the last track
played.
Headphones connection (9)
• If you want to listen on headphones you should use
headphones with a 3.5 mm jack plug inserted into the
PHONES headphone socket.
• For operation through the loudspeakers please insert the
3.5 mm stereo jack plug lead (see jack plug compartment
(15)) into the PHONES headphone connection.
• Close the jack plug compartment again, making sure not to
twist or jam the lead.
• Turn the POWER CHARGE/OFF/ON switch (13) to ON.
Playing a music fi le
1. Switch on the MP3 player.
2. Press

button (1) to start playback (display reads

3. Playing of the fi les stored on the device starts.
4. Briefl y press the

button (1) to pause playback (display
reads

).
5. Briefl y press the

button (1) again to continue playback
from the same point.
NOTE:
If an SD/MMC card is installed, the „ “ symbol appears in the
display.
Volume control
1. To increase the volume, press and hold the “VOL+“ button
(2) until the desired volume has been set.
2. To decrease the volume, press and hold the “VOL-“ button
(2) until the desired volume has been set.
WARNING:
Listening at high volumes can harm your ears.
Skip to previous/next fi le

(3):
press 1 x = Starts playing the currently playing track
from the start.
press 2 x = Skips to the previous track.
press 3 x = Plays one track before that, etc.

Use this button to skip to the next track, or the track
after the next.
Stop playback
While a track is playing, press and hold the

II
button (1) until
the display reads „
왎
”.
Key lock
The key lock inhibits the operation of all buttons on the MP3
player. This prevents you from accidentally activating buttons
while using the MP3 player when you are out.
1. To activate the key lock, push the HOLD switch (8) to the
left. The lock symbol appears in the display.
2. In order to release the key lock, push the HOLD switch to
the right. The lock symbol in the display goes off.
NOTE:
If you attempt to turn the device on when the key lock is
activated, the message „HOLD“ appears in the display and the
device switches off again.
A-B (Repeat Passage)
Passages within a music fi le can be selected and repeated.
1.
During playback press the REC button (12) in the desired
piece of music when the starting point is reached from
where the music should be repeated (display reads A –).
2.
Press the REC button (12) when the point is reached at
which the repeat should end (display reads A – B). The
device is now in the A-B mode and begins with repeat
playback.
3.
Press the REC button (12) again to deactivate the A-B
mode.
Dictation Function
With the in-built microphone it is possible to make speech
recordings.
1. In stop mode, keep the REC key (12) pressed down. Re-
cording starts (the length of time still available for recording
appears in the display).
2. In order to stop recording, press the REC key (12).
3. In order to play back the recording, select the „Voice“ mode
