• If the remote control is not used for a prolonged pe-
riod, remove the batteries in order to prevent battery
acid leaking.
• Now close the battery compartment
.
CAUTION:
• Diff erent battery types or new and used batteries
must not be used together.
• Batteries are not to be disposed of together with
domestic wastes. Dispose of the used batteries at
the relevant collection bin or at your dealer’s.
WARNING:
Do not expose the batteries to high temperatures or
direct sunlight. Never throw batteries into the fi re.
There is a danger of explosion!
When the remote control is used, care should be taken
that there are no objects between the remote control
and the central loudspeaker. (e.g. table, chair, etc.). These
objects prevent the infrared beam of the remote control
from reaching the receiver of the central loudspeaker.
It is then not possible to control the television with the
remote control.
Buttons on the Remote Control
and Front Panel
1. /-
Buttons for volume adjustment.
2. MUTE
With this button you can switch off the loudspeakers
without changing the volume.
NOTE:
When switching off this function ensure that the
overall volume is not set to maximum!
3. 5.1/2.1
Switches between IN AC-3 (5.1/DTS), IN 2 CH 1 and
5 CH 1 (Surround Sound).
4. /-
With these buttons you can set the volume of the
centre loudspeaker.
5. SU/-
With these buttons you can set the volume of the
surround loudspeakers.
6. SUB/-
With these buttons you can set the volume of the
subwoofer.
7. FRONT +/-
These buttons are used to adjust the volume of the
front loudspeakers.
8. MEMO 1-2-3
For selection of three preset volume levels.
NOTE:
These preset values cannot be changed.
9. ST.BY
STANDBY switch ON/OFF.
Switches the system to the standby mode.
NOTE:
Some buttons are located both on the front panel of
the device and on the remote control. The buttons with
the same designation have the same function.
Initial Operation
Insert the plug in a duly installed 230V/50Hz socket.
1. Switch on your sound source (e.g. DVD player) and
start it.
2. Turn on the subwoofer with the on/off switch on the
rear of the device.
3. Use the 5.1/2.1 button to select the desired input
source.
NOTE:
• Every time it is switched on the device starts in
5.1 (AC3) operation.
• After the device has been separated from the
power supply the values set by you are reset to
the default values set at the factory.
4. With the /- button you can set the overall
volume.
5. By pressing buttons 4 - 7 you can adjust the volume
of the central, front, surround and subwoofer loud-
speakers.
NOTE:
Please note! The surround and centre loudspeakers
can only be controlled during 5.1 operation.
6. To stop operation, turn off the subwoofer with the
on/off switch.
