Protect Yourself
Wear personal protective clothing and Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE) issued to you or called for
by job conditions.
You may need:
— Hard hat
— Safety shoes
— Safety glasses, goggles or face shield
— Heavy duty gloves
— Hearing protection
— Refl ective clothing
— Wet weather gear
— Respirator or fi lter mask
Wear whatever is needed—don’t take chances.
WARNING!
Prevent death or serious injury from
entanglement.
Do not wear loose clothing or
accessories. Stay away from all rotating components
when the engine is running.
Contact, wrapping or
entanglement with rotating or moving parts could result
in death or serious injury.

To further your knowledge of safety practices and pro-
cedures, take advantage of available training programs.
Never smoke while operating the machine. Never fi ll the
fuel tank with the engine running or near an open fl ame.
Make sure you have adequate visibility and adequate
ventilation.
Know the pinch points and rotating parts on the truck—
awareness on YOUR part can prevent accidents.
Never climb on the mast or boom or other areas of the
rough terrain forklift truck. You may injure yourself or get
pinned or wedged from a fall.
Never attempt to operate the controls except from the
operator’s seat. Improperly controlled functions could
produce unexpected movement.
WARNING! Never leave the operator’s seat
without fi rst safely shutting down the machine.

personnel.
