This reactor is designed to be used within a sump. Ensure that the reactor can sit flat on

the sump floor and is not touching the sides of the sump, baffles or any plumbing. This

will ensure the quietest performance from the reactor. The pump must be completely

submerged underwater during operation. To release air from the reactor body remove

the top-up lid then replace.

Main Bio Pellet reactor body and lid.

Sicce Syncra Silent pump.

Never connect the AFM Marine BP-1.0/2.0 Reactor (product) to the power outlet

whilst your hands are wet.
Do not allow the pump to run dry. Keep the pump fully submerged during

operation failure to do so could damage the pump and cause failure.
Ensure that there is a drip-loop in the pump cord to prevent water running down
the cord and reaching the plug/power outlet.

Always unplug the product from the power outlet prior to the product

maintenance.

While we take great care to keep any contaminates away from our products during

manufacture please take a moment to clean the reactor before use. (only clean your

reactor with warm water; never clean with any soap or chemicals and use caution

when handling as acrylic scratches easily)
For best performance, it is important to clean the body of the chamber during routine

media swaps; and keep the perforated inlet and outlet assembly clear of debris and

growth at all times.
Regular maintenance of the pump will ensure a long life and maximum performance.

For the first few days of operation if the bio pellets clump together you may need to

turn the pump off and on to allow the clumps to settle and break up. No further

action should be required once the pellets have gone through this initial “breaking-in”

process.
For best results, place the outlet of the reactor near your protein skimmers intake

pump; this will help remove excess bacteria/mulm and re-oxygenate the water.

To remove the body cover, loosen the thumb screws, a total of (five on the BP-1.0

and seven on the BP-2.0).
Pour your bio pellets into the chamber of the body; ensuring you do not overfill

the media chamber (<500 ml BP-1.0 and <1000 ml BP-2.0).
Align the body cover and tighten thumb screws in a star pattern to evenly

secure.
Connect the water outlet of the pump to the main reactor body.

CAUTION: DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN THE SCREWS
