Features and Functions
Number of Samples per Trigger
By default, when the multimeter is in the wait–for–trigger state, it takes
one reading (or sample) each time you trigger the multimeter. You can,
however, instruct the multimeter to take up to 50,000 readings (up to 1
million for model 34411A) each time a trigger is initiated, whether from
the front panel or remote interface.

Front Panel Operation:
To change the number of samples taken per trigger,
press

TRIGGER

as needed to
select
ADVANCED
, and press
to display
N SAMPLES
. Use the navigation
keypad to select the desired number of samples per trigger, and press
. Then step through or exit the advanced triggering menu.

Remote Interface Operation:
The following command selects the number of
samples the multimeter will take per trigger:
SAMPle:COUNt {<count>

After setting the sample count, you must place the meter in the
wait–for–trigger state before readings are triggered

Trigger Delay
You can manually specify a delay between the trigger signal and the first
sample that follows. This may be useful in applications where you want to
allow the input signal to settle before taking a reading, or for pacing a
burst of readings.

The trigger delay may be set from 0 to 3600 seconds.
•
If a trigger delay is not manually set, the default trigger delay is
automatically set, based on function, range, integration time and/or
ac filter setting

If you manually specify a trigger delay,
that delay
is used for
all
measurement functions.
