Changing the Grid (f
0
, s)
When changing the grid parameters (reference frequency and grid
spacing) the instrument will try to keep the resulting frequency, i.e. the
channel number c is changed, so that
is minimized.
If the laser module is on, you have to explicitly switch it off before a grid
parameter can be changed.
Operation Modes
The "native" parameters used by the underlying hardware are reference
frequency, grid spacing, channel number and frequency offset. In some
applications however, you may just want to set a frequency (or
wavelength) without thinking about the details. So the instrument offers
two operation modes: "Auto Mode" and "Grid Mode".
•
Auto Mode: You can set a frequency (or wavelength) and the
instrument calculates and sets its parameters accordingly. , , , and
are read-only.
•
Grid Mode: You can set and s manually. You can also edit and
to get the desired frequency. The resulting output frequency and
wavelength are read-only.
Switching Modes
• Auto Mode to Grid Mode:
is saved and , , , and
are restored.
• Grid Mode to Auto Mode: The manually set values , , , and
are
saved.
The last frequency set in Auto Mode before is restored.
