Remote Operation
Monitoring the Instrument
See “Status Reporting for Laser Wavelength Zeroing” on page 3-13 for a dis-
cussion of how to use these status bits.
Questionable Status Structure
Contains bits that report on several questionable instruments conditions.
Command
Use
STAT:QUES:COND?
Returns the value of the condition register.
STAT:QUES:EVEN?
Returns the value of the event register.
STAT:QUES:ENAB
Sets or returns the value of the event enable reg-
ister (mask).
See “Status Reporting for Laser Wavelength Zeroing” on page 3-13 for a dis-
cussion of how to use these status bits.
Output Queue
The output queue stores the instrument responses that are generated by cer-
tain commands and queries that you send to the instrument. The output
queue generates the Message Available Summary bit when the output queue
contains one or more bytes. This summary bit sets the MAV bit (bit 4) in the
Status Byte. The method used to read the output queue depends upon the
programming language and environment. For example, with HP BASIC, the
output queue may be read using the
ENTER
statement.

Pending Lambda Zero. Indicates a Lambda Zero is required and will be
initiated within 3 minutes.
3
Lambda Zero In Progress. Instrument is performing a wavelength calibraton.
It will not respond to GPIB commands until the calibration is completed.
