Programming instruments
After the communication between the PC and the remote
interface instruments is established, you can program the
remote interface instruments using Agilent VISA, VISA COM,
or SICL to send instrument commands such as SCPI.
You can also program in various languages or applications,
including Visual Studio .NET languages, Visual Basic,
Visual C++, Agilent VEE, and National Instruments LabVIEW.
For general programming guidelines, refer to the
documentation for your programming environment. You can
also find programming examples using various I/O libraries
and instrument drivers in the instrument’s
User’s Guide
.
After the E5810B is successfully installed and configured, it
should act as a transparent interface for programming GPIB,
USB, and RS- 232 instruments.
For more information on programming using Agilent VISA,
VISA COM, or SICL, refer to the respective instrument’s
User’s Guide
. You can also refer to
Agilent Connectivity
Guide
and
Agilent IO Libraries Suite Help
for further
information and guidelines on programming with Agilent
IO Libraries.
These documents can be obtained by clicking the IO icon on
