Trace Setting Notes
The Resolution, Average, and Output Power settings are always common for
the displayed traces.
The Frequency Range settings can be made individually when a DTF
measurement is displayed with a non-DTF measurement, See the Coupled
Frequency setting below.
All other trace settings, such as measurement, scaling, markers, and limit lines,
are applied individually to the
ACTIVE
trace in the same manner as when a
single trace is present.
When a DTF and non-DTF measurement is present, Coupled Markers are
forced to OFF. Learn more on page 138. Otherwise, when creating markers,
by default a marker is created on ALL traces and coupled.
Coupled Frequency
This setting is available ONLY when a
DTF and a non-DTF
measurement are
present. Otherwise, Couple Frequency is set to ON and can NOT be changed.
Coupled Frequency ON
(default setting) – Both traces have the same frequency
range settings.
Coupled Frequency OFF
- Both traces are allowed to have individual frequency
range settings. When set to OFF:
The non-DTF measurement frequency settings are made in the usual manner.
Learn how on page 24. When a new Start or Stop frequency is selected,
Coupled Frequency is automatically set to OFF.
The DTF measurement is made using the frequencies as determined by the
DTF Frequency Mode
setting. Learn more on page 33.
If a calibration is performed, it is applied to both traces.
How to set Coupled Frequency
With a DTF measurement and a non-DTF measurement present:
Press
Meas Setup 4
Select the DTF measurement (Tr2) using the

arrows.
Then

Quick Settings Table
Both CAT and NA Modes allow you to view and change most relevant settings

unless otherwise noted, ALL of these settings can also be made using the
standard softkey menus.
