*RST
description
The ReSeT command *RST sets the instrument to the default
setting stored in ROM. Pending *OPC/*OPC? actions are
cancelled.
The ReSeT command acts as follows:
•
selects the default laser (1310 nm if installed, 1550 nm else)
•
switches the laser off
•
activates the “Select Application” menu
•
sets the average time to 200 ms
•
sets the reference power to -10 dBm
•
sets RL ref to 14.7 dB
•
sets the unit for power to Watt
•
sets the unit for SR in CT and PDCT measurement to %
•
stops the automatic sweep of the polarization controller
•
sets the scan rate of the polarization controller to 5
•
activates head A
The instrument is placed in the idle state waiting for a command.
The *RST command clears the input queue.
The following are not changed:
•
HP-IB (interface) state
•
Instrument interface address
•
Output queue
•
Service Request Enable register (SRE)
•
Standard Event Status Enable register (ESE)
