Insertion Loss Measurement Setup
The same setup can be
used to measure the
Polarization Dependent
Loss.
1
Connect the optical output to the input of the device under test
(DUT).

Connect the optical head which was used to measure and store
the reference power to the output of the DUT.

Activate the optical output.
If you wish to use the internal light source, press S

to turn the source on. The source indicator lamp must be lit.
If you have connected an external light source to the optical
input, press S

to turn the internal source off. The
source indicator lamp must be off.
