Performing Feature Extraction on Scanned Images
There are a number of ways you can do feature extraction on the scanned image files created by
your scanner:
•
Set up the Scan Control program to run Feature Extraction automatically as the slides are
scanned. See
“To set the location of the Feature Extraction program”
select to run Feature Extraction after scanning”
on page 47. The Scan Control program
automatically creates a project file that is used to feature extract the image after it is scanned.
The Feature Extraction database must contain the design (grid) for the image, or you must
have the Feature Extraction program configured to use the eArray server during extraction.
•
Run the Feature Extraction program manually after the scanned images are created. For
information on using the Feature Extraction program, see the documentation provided with the
program.
•
To use Agilent CytoGenomics to feature extract the images, set the output folder to the
auto-processing TIFF image folder configured in the Agilent CytoGenomics program. The
CytoGenomics program picks up the images automatically and then feature extracts and
analyzes them. For more information, see the Agilent CytoGenomics program documentation.
NOTE
The Feature Extraction program is preinstalled on your scanner workstation.
The Agilent CytoGenomics program is not included with the SureScan
Microarray Scanner System.
