2-Wire Transmitter Verification
You can use the following method to verify the operation of
a 2- wire transmitter. The method takes advantage of the
ability of this instrument to simultaneously source voltage
and measure current.

Turn the rotary switch to
/
position.

Connect the red alligator lead between the positive output
terminal of the instrument and the positive output
terminal of the two- wire transmitter. Refer to
Figure 5- 16
on page 114.

Connect a shorting plug between the negative output
terminal and negative input terminal of the instrument.

Connect the black alligator lead between the positive
input terminal of the instrument and the negative output
terminal of the two- wire transmitter.

The supply can be set to any voltage up to +15 V.

Press
OUTPUT
to output the excitation voltage.

The instrument display will indicate a transmitter output
current if an input signal is present.
