Using the Detector

1. Press On/Off key to turn on the detector.
2. Press top key to select the accuracy (deadband) and middle key to 

select sound level. (The detector retains in memory the last settings used.)

3. Turn the detection window towards the laser beam, and move the detector up or 

down according to the information given on the LCD display.
A down arrow indicates you must move the detector down to reach the laser 
reference; an up arrow, move it up. When a horizontal line appears on the display, 
the detector is at the same level as the laser beam.

4. To turn on the LED grade indicators, press the accuracy and sound level keys at the 

same time.

5. Press the On/Off key to turn the detector off. It will automatically shut off after 30 

minutes if not used.

6.   Keep the detection window and LCDs clean, using a soft cloth and glass cleaner or 

mild soap and water. Do not wipe with a dry cloth, which can scratch the windows.
Detector may be submerged under water or sprayed with 
a low pressure hose.

Securing the clamp to the detector

1.   Align the two dovetails of the clamp 

(1) to the slots on the back of the detector. 
Slide down; you should hear a “click.”

2. Turn clamping screw (4) counterclockwise 

to open the clamp’s jaws; turn clockwise to 
tighten onto a rod. 

3. The top of the bar (3) is aligned with the 

detector’s on-grade location and 
marking notches.

4. To remove clamp from detector, press thumb 

release tab (2) and slide clamp upward. 

Using clamp on oval rods

The traveling jaw (5) is reversible, and has 
a slant face for use on oval or round rods.
To change, remove screw with a flathead 
screwdriver, flip the face over, and replace screw.
