DUCTING
Always use rigid type metal ducts. Flexible ducts can restrict airflow by more than 50%. 6” round
ductwork must be used to maintain maximum air flow efficiency with the 550 CFM motor. Units
with 300 CFM motors may use 4" round ductwork, however 6" ductwork is recommended.
Reduce the number of transitions and turns as much as possible. If a reducer is used, install a
long (cone shaped) reducer instead of a pancake reducer. If reducers, turns and transitions are
required, install them as far away from the exit exhaust opening as possible and as far apart from
each other as possible.
