SWITCH KICK

®

QUICK RELEASE BASS DRUM BEATER SYSTEM

WARNING!

HOW TO INSTALL

HOW IT WORKS: F.A.S.T. = FLIP,

ADJUST, SWITCH, TOOL-LESS

1. Possible

FINGER PINCH POINT! Be careful

when handling the Switch Kick in your hands,
as you could pinch your fingers when trying
to adjust the beater head and stainless steel
adapter shaft. We recommend installing it on
your bass drum pedal before adjusting.

2. Possible

DRUMHEAD DAMAGE by the fixed

stainless steel adapter shaft.

DO NOT use

or leave the stainless steel adapter shaft on
your bass drum pedal without a Switch Kick
beater head on it. By doing so, someone could
inadvertently play your bass drum pedal and
possibly dent or puncture your drumhead.
ALWAYS keep a Switch Kick beater head on
your stainless steel adapter shaft.

1. Your new Switch Kick beater should be pre-set and
ready to go right out of the box, just insert the

“flat

part” of the adapter shaft into the pedal assembly
facing the setscrew. Then tighten the setscrew and
you are ready to go.

2. If not pre-set, insert the fixed stainless steel
adapter shaft into your bass drum pedal assembly,
making sure to align the

“flat part” at the bottom

of the adapter shaft (designed to face/align with
the bass drum pedal assembly setscrew) while also
aligning the adapter shaft so that the

“rounded tooth”

section is facing the drumhead.

DO NOT insert the adapter shaft in all the way;
allow an 1/8” or more so that the beater head can
go to the lowest setting. For extra length, pull the
adapter shaft out of the pedal assembly as much
as an additional 1/2”.

Note: DW 9000 pedals will need to use the
additional adjacent flat part of adapter shaft.

3. Then insert the aluminum Two-Way Kick beater
head and slide it sideways onto the stainless steel
adapter shaft to the desired height for you and your
bass drum. To lock and engage, turn the Two-Way
Kick beater head 90 degrees to the left or the right.

Flip the beater 180 degrees
If using a double sided beater head, such as the
Two-Way Kick, you can use either side of the head
by simply rotating the beater 180 degrees to the left
or the right.

Adjust the height to 9 different levels
Depending on the size of your bass drum or the
feel you want for the style of music you are playing,
you can adjust the height of the beater to most any
height you desire.

To do so, disengage the Switch Kick by turning the
beater head 90 degrees to the left or the right.
Then pull up or push down to adjust to your desired
height. Once you set the height, turn the beater head
90 degrees to the left or the right to lock and engage.

Note: The lower the height of the beater head the
lighter and quicker the beater feels. The higher the
height of the beater head the more powerful and
“behind the beat” it feels.

Switch to over 10 different beater heads
We offer a wide variety of additional beater
heads to fit all your drumming needs. Visit

To switch out your Switch Kick beater head:

1. Simply turn the beater head 90 degrees to the
left or the right until it is disengaged.

2. Pull up and remove the existing Switch Kick
beater head from the stainless steel adapter shaft.

3. Install the new Switch Kick beater head by
inserting the beater head and sliding it sideways
onto the stainless steel adapter shaft to the desired
height. Then, turn the beater head 90 degrees to the
left or the right to lock and engage.

Tool-less design
Once you have installed the fixed stainless steel
adapter shaft and mounted it with a drum key to your
bass drum pedal assembly, you don’t need to use a
drum key to Flip, Adjust or Switch!
