Mounting the Flow Cell:
For remote Flow Cell mounting up to a maximum of 150 feet, use the four Scotch Lock type UR for
wire splicing. To extend the flow cell wire, use the four conductor sensor cable available from
Agricultural Instruments or an approved equivalent. Do not use the commonly available twisted pair
style of cabling – it will not work correctly.
For optimal sensing operation, the flow cell must be installed properly. In any
given parlor, all of the flow cells should be installed the same. This helps
establish consistent flow patterns at all the milking locations in the parlor.
There are two flow cell SS mounting brackets that can be used depending on the installation
requirement. In all cases it is important to create a slugging action of the milk entering the flow cell.
When using the 50110 SS flow cell bracket it is necessary to have a 6 inch lift or flow conditioning
70001 elbow on the inlet side of the flow cell. This facilitates the milk slugging action providing
optimal sensing.
Installation Procedures
1. Bolt, weld or clamp the SS Flow Cell bracket in the determined location.
2. Insert the flow cell into the rubber grommet.
3. Attach hoses. (Heat the Hoses to increase flexibility)
