UTILITY ROOM
Linear Power Supply Hook-up:
The linear power supplies (LPS) are available with 24
DC outputs. The 24 VDC output supply is used to
power the Presto Detachers, Presto Master, Tracker
Elite and the Tracker RFID CPU (Central Processing
Unit).
The 24 VDC (LPS) are hooked up the same way
except the 24 VDC (LPS) # 70454 has the option to
purchase a shelf. The 24 VDC LPS are located in the
utility room in a dry clean environment .
The power input for 24 VDC linear power supplies is a
120 VAC power outlet.
Be sure input ground to LPS is
connected per local codes.
Very Important:
1. All the linear power supplies must have a dedicated
power input , meaning the 120 VAC outlet should
come straight from the service entry breaker box with
no other applications pulling power from the circuit.
2. When powering a Tracker RFID
™
system, It is OK to
power the 12 VDC linear power supply and the
computer from the same 120 VAC power source
circuit.
3. Whenever more than one 24 VDC LPS are installed
the output negative (s) MUST be connected with a
single 18 gauge wire. (See the above 18 gauge
neutral jumper wire)
4. All 24 VDC output circuits must be looped meaning,
the 14 or 12 gauge positive and negative output wires
must connect to the power supply, service the
detachers and return to the power supply.
5. Output Wire Specifications: Use ONLY stranded wire.
Looped 14 gauge can service up to 12 detachers
with a maximum distance of 50 ft from the first
detacher. Use looped 12 gauge when servicing more
than 12 detachers and/or has a greater distance than
50 ft. to the first stall.
