Number of Groups
The Presto Control supports up to 26 data collection groups during milking. These collection groups
are used when the Herd Tracker is connected. Setting the number of groups to “1” will eliminate the
group number within the display. It is recommended that the group number be set to 1 when the
Herd Tracker is not connected. To change from group to group, press over the Attach/Detach switch
for at least 3 seconds when detached. This should be considered as an attach with a long switch
press. (See Herd Tracker Instructions, for more information regarding cow group management.
Milking System (Parlor) Type
The milking system type helps to improve accuracy with the two different parlor types: low line or
high line. If the milk meter is down on the curb or below the cow’s udder, choose low line. If the milk
meter is above the cow’s udder, choose high line.
Wash Temperature
The wash Temperature setting allows the operator to select a temperature threshold value for wash
temperature. The Presto Control will accumulate the periods of time when the wash temperature is
at or above the selected value.
Milk Alarm Temperature
The Alarm Temperature setting allows the operator to select the temperature to indicate an alarm
condition. Standard milk temperature is 102.0 F (39.1 C). Setting the alarm temperature above 102.5 F
(39.2C) is recommended under standard conditions. Remember to calibrate the milk temperature
according to the Calibrate Milk Temperature Offset. (See Set-up Table

Factory Defaults
Factory default settings are for the typical installation. By choosing the “Yes” in the menu, the
Presto Control will revert back to all the factory settings. This allows the operator to undo all the
changes since the was first installed, and start from factory settings
Password
The password is a numeric number that is established from the Presto’s serial number. If password
function is turned ON or YES. To enter the set-up you must enter in the password number. To
determine what the password number is during initial power up the Presto displays it’s serial
number. The password number is the serial number plus one for each digit. For example if the
Presto’s serial number is 1111 then the password number will be 2222 or if the serial number is
1234 the password number will be 2345. For each digit of the serial number you add one. Each unit
has a different serial number therefore each unit will have a different password.
Return to Auto
If this function is turned to YES, when the unit is detached and the left switch is pressed to retain the
record and continue milking the cow, the unit will automatically switch to automatic eliminating the
need to press right switch to switch it into the automatic sensing mode.
