Attach/prep Timer
When set to zero this function is disabled. To set-up a attach time enter the attach/prep time function
and with the right switch scroll to the desired attach time. When established the Presto provides a
count down to attach. Ten seconds prior to attach time the Presto’s two red lights flash three times
with a pause continually till the Presto’s attach button is pressed again to attach.
Attach During Prep Yes/No
When “No” is selected the Presto control will not allow the operator to attach the claw to the cow
until prep time has expired.
Power-up Mode
Power-up memory allows you to control the mode of which the Presto powers up in. When set to
“Memory” the Presto control will power up in the mode it was powered down, in idle the Presto
control will power up in the detach mode and in wash it will power-up in the wash mode.
Pre V1.48 Lights
The Presto control light blinking sequence changed at version 1.48. Therefore, if replacing a PC
board, be sure to set the light blinking sequence to match the existing units. Choose “YES” if the
existing software is prior to version 1.48 and no if the existing software is V1.48 or later.
Manual Enable
When switch to “No” the detacher stall controls will not enter the Manual Milking Mode.
Use Switches to Address Stall Control
There are two ways to address the stall control for networking. Historically, the dip switches were
used on the upper right hand of the Presto PCB. Now, the addressing can be done from the keypad.
To initiated entering the stall address with the keypad, select “No”. The next prompt will ask you how
large the parlor is (total number of stall controls). The next prompt asks you what stall number it is.
Number of Stalls (Total Number of Stall Controls connected to the Network)
Stall Number (For Addressing Enter Stall Number–
a press and hold moves the stall # in 10’s
Network Speed Legacy or Advanced
This feature speeds up the communication network by about 40%. Detacher Stall Controls running
software versions 1.79 or lower must operate at the “Legacy” speed. Stall Controls running software
versions of 1.80 or greater can run in the advanced mode. (Note: All the detacher controls in a single
installation must all be running at the same network speed, therefore be sure when changing PCB’s
the network speed matches the rest of the detacher stall controls).
Communication Statistics
This feature allows the operator to check how well the detacher stall control is communication with
the outside world. The number if polls is the number of times the stall controls is talking.
The NAK RX is the Number of Negative Acknowledgements Received
The NAK TX is the number of Negative Acknowledgements Transmitted
Ideally the NAKRX and NAKTX should be zero however it the number of Poll is extremely large it will
not be uncommon to see a few NAKRX or TX’s.
Exercise Outputs Cylinders and Shutoff
For troubleshooting assistance, use the exercise outputs to cycle through either the cylinder or
shutoff outputs (see “Invert Shutoff and Invert Cylinder” set-up for voltage output).
