GENERAL INFORMATION
How Ultrasonic Humidifiers Work
Ultrasonic humidifiers operate on the prin-
ciple of high frequency oscillation of water
molecules until they are broken into ultra-fine
particles (1-5μm). This is done by an nebulizer
(sometimes called an atomizer, oscillator, or
transducer) inside the humidifier. The fine mist
created is then dispersed into the air by a fan.
With an ultrasonic humidifier, the water itself
is atomized, and any minerals or debris in the
water will be dispersed into the air.
We strong-
ly recommend the use of a demineralization
filter whenever using an ultrasonic humidifier.
Using distilled or purified water can also help
reduce minerals being released into the air.
Demineralization cartridges, part # DC1003PK,
are available for purchase for this unit. (See
page 10).
CAUTIONS Regarding Additives to Water
Only use cool, clean water to fill your
humidifier.
•
Add water treatment for ultrasonic units
to maintain a clean humidifier.
•
For best result, do not use softened
water. Minerals, sodium, and other sedi-
ments inside water will be dispersed into
the air.
•
Never add essential oils directly to the
water. It can damage the plastic seals and
cause leaks. Oils should only be added
to the oil diffuser tray on the back of the
unit.
•
Never add bacteriostat intended for evap-
orative humidifiers
