SPLASH GUARD LACING

The splash deflector will keep water from splashing up through the floor at the

bow when running white water.  The guards are easiest to install when the raft is
deflated and right side up.  The bow ends of the splash guards will be overlapped so
that the pre-punched holes align.  The lacing rope for the splash guard is about 10'
long.  Thread the rope around the floor lacing rope (between two lace loops) at the
center of the bow of the boat  Tie an overhand knot so that the rope is evenly divided
into two halves, both being about 5' long.  With the guards in place at the bow of the
raft, take one end of the rope and thread up from the bottom side of the guard through
the hole where both guards overlap.  Pass the rope across the top of the splash guard
to the next hole (about 8-12 inches) and thread the rope down through the hole, around
the floor lacing rope and back up through the  hole.  Continue across to the next hole
and repeat the process.  When the final hole has been laced, tie off the end of the
rope.  The same process is to be used for the opposite splash guard.  Be sure that the
lacing rope is tight against the guard and there is not any slack in the rope.

THWART INSTALLATION

The thwarts will be installed either by quick links, lacing or cam straps.  Both the

thwart and the boat should be off air for installation.  Begin by laying out the thwarts in
their approximate desired positions (keep in mind which direction the valves on the
thwarts are to be facing).

If using

cam straps

to lace in thwarts begin by threading the webbing end of the

strap through the lower D-ring.  Next thread the webbing end again through the cam
buckle space (not the jaws) next to the sewn loop.  Again thread the webbing end
