Landing Gear
Install the landing gear with the thicker portion of the
airfoil to the front. Add a drop of thread locker to a
socket head screw. Insert the socket head screw and
washer through the landing gear into the blind nuts
located inside the fuselage.
Fit the filler block to the bottom of the landing gear. You
may need to sand a cove down the center of the block to
fit the landing gear without rocking.
The filler block can be held in position with strips of
covering material, or packing tape over the joints.
Slide the cuffs over the landing gear and secure with self
tapping screws. Be carefull
you don’t
break the screws.
If the screw seems to be difficult to insert use a drill to
open up the hole. You may also choose to use a silicon
adhesive (RTV) to secure the cuffs in position. Apply a
bead of adhesive on the landing gear just above the
mounting holes and slide the cuff over the adhesive.
File a flat on the wheel axel for the wheel collar set screw.
(Making it perpendicular to the wrench flats may help
during installation and tightening later.) Slide the wheel
and collar on the axel and tighten the set screw.
