External power
supply mode
The external power supply mode is to ensure consumers have a power supply

when there is increased power consumption (e.g. updating firmware/software for the
vehicle’s electronics)
-
when changing the battery (time, radio configuration, etc., are not lost)
Current input test
mode
Current input test mode is used to test a battery’s ability to accept charge. The test takes
place as follows:

automatic current input test takes only a few minutes
-
after a pre-defined test time, the current input test ends and the results are shown
on the display
A requirement for the current input test is the use of the latest version of the Volkswagen
Group testing instructions for starter batteries.
