Start-up
3. Push 1 washer (18/5) onto the wheel shaft.
4. Push cotter pin (18/6) through the hole in the
wheel shaft until it engages.
5. Push on wheel cap (18/7).
5.2.2
Attach splitting table [LSV 560/8] (19 –
21)
1. Unscrew star handles (19/1) out of lateral
brackets (19/2) until the splitting table can be
pushed in.
2. Fold up (20/a) lateral rests (20/1) of splitting
table (20/2) until they engage and form a lev-
el surface with the splitting table.
3. Push (21/a) splitting table (21/1) into lateral
brackets (21/2) until hooks (21/3) of the split-
ting table engage.
4. Screw star handles (21/4) securely into the
lateral brackets until the splitting table is
fixed.
Proceed analogously in reverse order to remove
the splitting table.

Attach operating arms [LSV 560/8] (22
– 25)
Perform the steps described here for both operat-
ing arms:
1. Remove locking pin (23):
■
Pull cotter pin (23/1) out of locking pin
(23/2).
■
Pull (23/a) locking pin out of transverse
bracket (23/3).
2. Coat operating arm (22/1) slightly with grease
at points (22/A) and (22/B).
3. Insert greased operating arm (24). Carry out
simultaneously:
■
Push operating arm (24/4) into trans-
verse bracket (24/5).
■
Push operating arm onto lever (24/6) of
the hydraulic pump controller.
■
Align the holes in operating arm and
transverse bracket for insertion of the
locking pin.
4. Insert locking pin (25):
■
Insert locking pin (25/7) into the aligned
holes of transverse bracket and operating
arm as far as it will go (25/b).
■
Push cotter pin (25/8) into the hole in the
locking pin until it engages.

Attach retaining claws with protective
bracket [LSV 560/8] (26 – 28)
Installing protective bracket (26, 28)
1. Push long protective bracket (28/1) onto left
retaining claw (28/2):
■
Insert two M6 x 16 screws (26/1) from
above through protective bracket and re-
taining claw.
■
Push washer (26/2) and self-locking nut
(26/3) from below onto each screw and
tighten securely.
2. Push short protective bracket (28/3) onto
right-hand retaining claw (28/4):
■
Insert two M6 x 16 screws (26/4) from
above through protective bracket and re-
taining claw.
■
Push washer (26/5) and self-locking nut
(26/6) from below onto each screw and
tighten securely.
Installing retaining claws (27, 28)
Perform the steps described here for both retain-
ing claws:
1. Push a washer (27/1) onto each of the star
handles (27/2).
2. As shown in Figure (28):
■
Push left-hand retaining claw (27/3, 28/2)
onto left-hand operating arm (27/4).
■
Push right-hand retaining claw (27/5,
28/4) onto right-hand operating arm
(27/6).
3. Insert two star handles with washers into
each retaining claw and tighten securely.

START-UP
6.1
Setting up and connecting log splitter
WARNING! Danger of injury if the log
splitter tips over.
A tipping log splitter can result
in serious injury and material damage.
■
Set up the log splitter on firm and level
ground.
■
Do not place any material under the log split-
ter to change its height or to try to increase
its stability.
1. Set up the log splitter horizontally and se-
curely so that it cannot tip over.
2. LSV 550/6 only: Anchor the log splitter to the
ground at the appliance leg using two suit-
able screws (17/1) and possibly dowels to
prevent it from tipping over.
