PRO 140 OHV / 160 OHV
1. Remove the spark plug (2) using a socket
wrench.
2. Clean the electrodes with a metal brush and
remove any deposits of soot.
3. Check the correct electrode gap using a feeler
gauge.
4. Insert the spark plug again and tighten using
a socket wrench.
ADVICE
An incorrect spark plug can cause en-
gine damage.
Angling the engine
The carburettor/air filter must point upwards
(7).
Cleaning the engine
CAUTION!
Danger of fire!
Remove flammable objects from the ex-
haust and the cylinder area.
Remove the contamination regularly from the en-
gine with a cleaning cloth or brush.
Clean the cooling openings.
Clean the cooling system. In order to prevent
overheating, also clean the internal cooling vanes
and surfaces.
ADVICE
Do not spray the engine with water.
Clean using a brush or cloth.
Maintenance schedule
Observe the operating hour or annual intervals,
whichever comes first. More frequent mainten-
ance is necessary when the appliance is used un-
der more severe operating conditions.
After the first 5 operating hours
Change the engine oil.
Every 5 hours or daily prior to use
Check the oil level.
Clean the area of the silencer and controls.
Every 25 hours or every 3 months
Clean the air filter; if there are high levels of
dust in the air or foreign bodies in the air,
clean more frequently.
Every 50 hours or every year
Change the engine oil.
Check the silencer and spark arrester.
Every year
Renew the air filter.
Exchange the spark plug.
Clean the air cooling system; if there are high
levels of dust in the air or foreign bodies in the
air, clean more frequently.
