Carburettor adjustments may only be
carried out by authorised workshops or
our After-Sales Service.
Ignition spark check
WARNING!

Use a suitable spark tester
Never test ignition sparks with the spark plug
removed

MAINTENANCE AND CARE
DANGER!
Always switch off and secure the engine
before starting adjustment, maintenance
or repair work.
Remove the spark plug cap before starting
maintenance and cleaning work
Do not spray the machine with water! Pene-
trating water (ignition system, carburettor...)
can lead to malfunctions.
Clean the appliance after every use
Observe the maintenance schedule
Observe the operating hour or annual inter-
vals, whichever comes first
More frequent maintenance is necessary
when the appliance is used under more se-
vere operating conditions
Changing the air filter (5)
Clean the air filter regularly. Replace damaged air
filter.
1. Remove air filter cover (D). Press latches (E)
and remove cover.
2. Remove filter (F) and outer filter (G) and tap
on hard surface until the dirt is removed. Do
not brush! Install filter and outer filter again.
3. Install air filter cover (D) again and lock in
place.
Changing the oil (6)
Check the oil level at regular intervals.
Check the oil level every 8 operating hours or daily
before starting the engine (see Oil recommenda-
tions).
WARNING!
Risk of fire and explosion from es-
caped fuel!
The fuel tank must be drained before
draining the oil.
ADVICE
Drain the old oil with the engine still
warm. Warm oil drains more quickly and
more completely.
1. In order to empty the fuel tank, run the engine
until it stops because it has run out of fuel.
2. Disconnect the spark plug connector (6-1).
3. Unscrew the oil dipstick (6-2).
4. Place a suitable container under it to catch the
oil (6-3).
5. Tip the engine sideways over the collecting
container so that all the oil can fully drain out
of the oil filler pipe (6-4).
6. Bring the engine back into the horizontal po-
sition.
7. Fill in new oil (SAE 10W-30, fill volume: 0.55
l) (4).
8. Screw the oil dipstick back in.
ADVICE
Dispose of used oil in an eco-friendly
manner.
Servicing the spark plug
CAUTION!
Electric shock hazard!
Never test ignition sparks with the spark
plug removed.
The electrode gap of the spark plug (2) should be
0.6 mm - 0.8 mm.
Never start the engine without a spark plug
