2.6.2. Water Pressure Supervision
There are two pressure supervision systems embedded into the LMS 14 control card. They are
namely the “Static Pressure Supervision” and “Dynamic Pressure Supervision” systems. It is the
priority of LMS 14 card to process and make a decision depending on the feedbacks of water pres-
sure supervision system. In case of neccesity, it may lower the system operation to
Low Fire
(LF)
mode (minimum output case), can interrupt system operation and activate the “
start prevention
”
function or activate
lockout
.
Static Pressure Supervision (SPS)
When the abnormally high or low water pressure value returns to its normal range, the boiler is
released again with no delay. There are a maximum, a minimum, a critical minimum and a switch-
ing differential pressure value in the system operation. The below graph summarizes the operation
modes of the SPS system related to pressure disturbances emerging from external causes. The
switching differential takes a role as a safety margin when the pressure is returning to its normal
range.
LMS 14 shuts the gas valve down when the maximum water pressure value is reached; but the
circulating pump continues its operation. When the water pressure starts to decrease, being far as
the safety margin (switching differential) from the below to the maximum water pressure value, the
boiler starts to re-operate. If the pressure is lower than the “minimum water pressure” but higher
than the “water pressure critical minimum”, LMS 14 lowers the system’s current capacity by %20.
When the water pressure starts to increase, being minimally far from the top as the switching dif-
ferential from the “minimum water pressure”, the boiler can start to modulate itself between the
minimum and maximum outputs. In the contrary, if the water pressure continues to decrease lower
through below the “water pressure critical minimum” value LMS 14 cuts the gas valve energy also
with the circulating pump.
