• Return to the bridge, start both engines and return to port.
A crew member should constantly monitor the bilge to
ensure there are no problems.
• Monitor the starboard engine temperature closely to
make sure the seawater pump is operating properly.
7.5 Cockpit and Deck Drains
Scuppers and Hatches
Your boat has two scupper drains located in the rear of the
cockpit at the transom. Flaps built into the scuppers help
reduce the surge of sea water through the scuppers and into
the cockpit.
Water is channeled away from all hatches by a gutter or drain
rail system. The water then drains overboard through fittings
in the drain rails to thru‑hull fittings in the hull sides above
the waterline.
Transom Fishbox , Livewell, and Below Deck Fishbox Drains
The fishbox below the cockpit floor is drained overboard by
a macerator pump out system. The macerator is activated by
the Fishbox Macerator switch located in helm switch panel.
Monitor the water level as the pump drains the fishbox and
turn it off immediately when draining is complete. The
transom fishbox is drained by gravity to a thru‑hull fitting in
the transom.
Note: The fishbox macerator discharge pump can only
be run dry for a couple of seconds. Allowing the
macerator pump to run after the fishbox is empty
will cause damage to the pump.
The livewell is drained by gravity to a thru‑hull fitting in
the hull side. The overflow in the livewell drains into the
overboard drain. These compartments should be flushed out
and cleaned after each use.
Bridge Deck and Cockpit Storage Compartments
The storage boxes, located below the bridge deck seats, are
drained by gravity to the bridge deck. The bridge deck drains
to the stern cockpit by drain rails located below the sole.
Rope Locker Drains
The rope locker drains to the bilge. It is important to inspect
the drains frequently to remove any accumulated debris.
7.6 Cabin Drains
The galley and head sink are drained by gravity to thru-hull
fittings in the hull side. The shower is drained by a sump
pump system.
